55 Gallon Barrel Racks
While 55 gallon drums remain probably the most effective liquid storage medium available thanks to their combination of size and convenience, it is essential that a robust and scalable storage solution for the drums is put into place. By using a set of 55 gallon barrel racks, you will find that drums can be stacked on top of each other quickly and safely, and that they can also be accessed easily when they are needed.
One of the main considerations that you need to make in putting your storage solution together is the safety of staff that are using it. A 55 gallon barrel rack will be holding some extremely heavy contents, and it is essential that it is able to fully support the load that you are putting on it. Most modern racks are modular in construction so that the structural strength of each unit combines to the whole, and are specially designed to spread their load across a larger area for more stability.
55 Gallon Barrel Racks are a useful way of ensuring that your storage area is well ordered and tidy, and this will increase the efficiency levels at which the area is able to operate. Provided that the barrel storage area has been set out logically, and there is space for the storage area to grow in order to meet your long term needs, then the self organizing nature of the racks will create a very workable area.
A 55 gallon barrel rack features a very simple and straightforward design. The idea behind the system is that each unit can support 3 individual barrels, and hold them in place effortlessly thanks to the way in which the rack has been designed to cradle the drums when they are placed onto it. Unable to move around and roll off, the rack is a very safe environment for storage.
Once the first layer of barrels has been placed onto the 55 gallon barrel racks, you can then stack a second layer on top. The rack units are designed to use the lower level of barrels to support the next, and have a design that takes into account the shape of the barrels below. This ensures that the stack holds together well and is completely steady thanks to its self supporting nature. Barrels are held apart from each other, and the whole stack will remain solid in use.
In order to add or remove barrels from your storage area, a forklift truck is necessary, and the 55 gallon barrel rack has been designed with providing easy access as a priority. The forks slide in under the barrels, and allow for it to be lifted off and moved from one place to another within the factory.
